Honda CVT - Metal Shavings on Drain Plug

I recently had the CVT fluid changed on my daughter’s 2018 CRV with the 1.5 turbo engine, at 76k miles. There was much less of the debris on the drain plug than shown in the OP’s post. But she drives lots of highway miles, so that is a factor.

That is completely normal. Here is a picture of the transmission drain plug on 13 Sonata 6 speed automatic (pic 1), and Kia 6 speed manual (pic 2). Dont worry at all. :-D Drive happy! :-D Sonata has about 50K worth of use, and the kia over 100K.

Changed my 2014 Accord LX CVT at 45,000, and 85,000 miles. Drained oil looked only slightly darker than the new. Almost no shavings the first time, essentially none the second time. I'll change again at 125,000. Mostly suburban and highway miles seem to be very easy on this "push-band" 399 element CVT transmission.

We have a 2015 crv. I did the fluid at 50k and there was more than double on it. My wife can be a snappy accelerator. I think you are doing great.
