I am going to drain/fill the coolant in our MDX this week with the genuine Honda blue coolant. At one time, Cadillac would recommend putting those organic sealing tablets in with a coolant change. I understand that Subaru has these as well. Cadillac folks considered them good preventative maintenance when doing a coolant change. Does anyone with a Honda/Acura use these? There are no leaks in the system now of which I am aware.

GM was forced to use these because of bad gaskets/bad design, I don't know which. Don't put anything in there.

X3. One of the reasons why I don't own a Subaru anymore. Having to use their stop-leak coolant conditioner every 2 years or 30,000 miles. Bill

Subaru uses them bc the engine is an "Open Deck" design (Flimsy) and the gasket surface is small. Probably best advice is not to use it. But having said that, I put a bottle of the Subaru Conditioner" in my Nissan SR20DE bc the Subaru Conditioner (I believe) is a pretty low grade stop leak that doesn't seem to cause any problems at all.

I understand y our logic. In the grand scheme of things the Vehicle Reliability as a whole is very good. Both me and my daughter have a combined mileage of170K+ miles with not one problem on our 08 Foresters.
