**Which fits a 99 Fourtrax 300 properly? A K&N 112 or K&N 113? It doesn't even show what fits on the K&N website but shows on the rancher 350 that the KN113 is correct. Also these both are supposed to take the same filter essentially.
Okay, just bought two quads; a 1999 Honda Fourtrax 300, and a 2003Honda rancher 350. I'm not loosing sleep over it but want to make sure I have the correct oil filter from K&N and won't cause any issues. Initial look ups shows that both of these take the same oil filter. Decided to buy locally rather than wait for shipping. Long story short, initially bought from advanced auto the only two in stock; a carquest and a K&N 113. Oddly enough the carquest came with an O ring for the oil filter housing cap. However, the K&N did not and no other filters were in stock. Without known service history I wanted to change everything on both quads, and change the oil a second time on the rancher 350 because of questionable lengths of time.
So, ran to auto zone and picked up an STP for $7 that came with the O Ring.
So, I've looked up/ researched and basically everyone says the differences are so little between the Kn-112 & kn-113 that it will not make a difference. Wanted to see if anything different is said here. I removed the KN-112 from the fourtrax 300 and installed a KN-113. There's a small size difference and IIRC the 113 has an oil bypass. However, both of these seem to take the same filter generally.
Thanks in advance!
