Cavalier's in their earlier years of that generation had poor reliability. However as time passed it was quite reliable as GM worked out the bugs apparently on the fly which is great.

While it's entirely possible, I don't think i'll be buying another GM product anytime soon. Personal reasons, I don't really want to get into the specifics on it and start a debate

My gf has a '99 with 113k on it, never had a problem for as long as I've known her. That's why I bought one.

Not every single Honda, Toyota, Nissan or whatever vehicle has the reputation or being reliable, is going to please everyone. Just as, not every single Chevy, Ford, or Dodge is a POS. Some of the best driving cars that I have ever owned were Chryslers. They had the most comfortable seating, smooth & responsive drivetrains, good ride and handling combo and great looking. But, their MPG was some of the worst I ever had compaired to vehicles in their class and they were in & out of the shop more than any of the vehicles that I have ever owned.(Caravan/Voyager, RAM, Spirit/Acclaim, Intrepid). Some I have purchaced used and others were new. I have also owned many GM and FORD cars and trucks. I just happen to have great succuss with Hondas & Toyotas.

I'd have to disagree with just about everything said in that statement. I used to drive a same-generation (1996) Honda Accord and it was a nightmare. The seats were not comfortable at all, in fact they made driving the car for more than a few hours downright painful. The suspension caused me to feel every little bump in the road, and conveyed it to an interior that rattled with the slightest touch. The thermostat failed and blew the (plastic) radiator at around 100k, the same time the front end was starting to fall apart.

I'll belive it, I had a corolla that was problem free, and my sister has the same car, same years, a lot of problems, and it even drives/handles different, and isnt nearly as comfortable.

This accord I got was driven by a commuter, so he had to take good care of it. It only needs maintainence stuff, and he started to modifty it a little, so it needs a new air box and hood emblem.

On a completely different note, I have a used short ram intake for sale that'll fit any 94-97 honda accord

One thing to remember: the engineers simply can NOT design seats that will be comfortable for everyone. The car companies spend millions trying to achieve designs that will leave most of the target audience for a particular car feeling comfortable. Which, in turn, begs the question: what does a particular target audience see as comfortable. There's a reason why Buicks tend to have large, often flaccid seats, and Porsches don't.

The bottom line is that if your bottom doesn't have the right line for a particular car, it's never going to feel comfortable. Unless you KNOW for sure that a seat will work, a good, long test drive (or maybe even a several day test rental is in order).

I'm not at all surprised that one guy finds an Accord comfortable, while another sees it as an Iron Maiden on wheels.
