Home button on Samsung Galaxy Alpha stopped workin

Yes.. As title says: Home button on Samsung Galaxy Alpha.. no longer works. And I have been told that letting it sit overnight in a bag of rice might not help it.

Should I try the rice? And, if I do and it still does not work, should I get a new phone?

Then try the rice! I dropped my old S3 in the hot tub and the rice trick fixed it 100%

As soon as my check clears.. Walmart. Maybe a box of small brown rice, put it in there, seal in a bag, put in a window and forget about the phone for a day.. Been like this for a week..
