HM oil in new lawn mower?

My brand new Honda mower is due for its first oil change. I have a quart of Valvoline 10w-30 high mileage for my Jeep, but it’s using 15w-40 these days and the quart is available.

Would this oil be ok for the mower? The HM is my concern, as I don’t want to cause issue due to that package in the oil.

It will work. You might get a puff of smoke out the exhaust upon start up but no big deal.

High mileage is typically thicker and has a better anti wear package . These are good things for an air cooled engine.
