Whether that's Huginn or Munnin he wants to carry a soul off to Valhalla. That "gibbet" is on a local trail between the ocean and the hills. There are many ravens.

Enjoyed a little time with my first moth/butterfly sighting of the Spring.
Young dragonfly followed me for a bit before I finally spotted it peeking over a leaf.

Mt Ha Ling - my 10th and perhaps last time. Either it's getting steeper, or I'm getting older. 
Starting out, with a view of the new parking lot (now paved).
An ominous sign ...
Very hazy due to the smoke from the forest fires
It's a steady uphill grind, climbing 800 m over 3.3 km
The trees are thinning out now.
Very nice lookout that wasn't here in 2016, the last time I was up here.
These stairs are also new. I think the trail was shutdown in 2018 for improvements.
Home stretch, above the treeline. The ascent in loose scree is scary. The descent is worse.
