High SI numbers and engine wear (Terry or Molakule)

The question is regarding K&N and high Silicone numbers on some filter applications.

I'm looking for data that proves that higher silicone levels do contribute to higher engine wear. One theory that has been debated is that the silcone particulates are so small that the wear is insignificant.

Your thoughts and data is greatly appreciated.

The UOAs on my 4.6L V8 always read abnormally high Silicon, but my wear metals are always good.
