Just picked up a 32 oz bottle of Casite High Performance Motor Honey Oil Stabilizer at our local Big Lots for five bucks.

According to the label, it
- is Tackifer free, all climate formula
- Safely extends engine and oil life
- Significantly reduces coefficient of friction and engine wear.

What I really like is that half the label is written in English, the other in Spanish. I can hardly wait to pour this in "'D' the Mighty."

According to the chart on the back label, it says that the viscosity is "13.6 @100 C, cSt." Can someone tell me therefore what "weight" this additive might be?

That oil is thicker than a 60 grade. And I bet it has no additives at all. All you are doing is thickening your oil and diluting the additive package in the existing oil.
I'll never,EVER use an oil thickener again. I'll just buy a quart of thick oil with an API stamp. Then I know and am confident in the product.
The manufacturer of those oil stabilizers don't have to follow any rules nor post what their ingredients are. That alone puts me off of it.

It might help your tractor though. At this point you don't have much to loose.

If I were you I would buy a straight 60 grade and try it. I've got a case of he Amsoil stuff,so I know it exists.

I've had mos2 stop the oil burn in a 5.0 ford Windsor motor. At this point its worth a shot. Heck I hate that restore stuff but considering that old tractor engine needs a rebuild anyways what can it hurt.

LOL!!! Love it.

No hard feeling Clevy. I'm a chemist and I let my pride and ego get in the way yesterday. I thought I could advance the life of my truck through better chemistry. LOL!!

Well, and to be honest, I'm gonna keep the Restore I just added in the engine during this current and fresh OCI. Then I'm gonna purge it out and see what my engine does "Restore-less". Just to see how quickly it reverts back to the old tired girl she was.

Maybe I can find a "middle ground" where I add a small dose (maybe like 5-10oz, instead of 20-30 oz.) and I get the benefits with reduced potential harm.

No hard feelings here. I'm happy to be proven wrong,it expands my knowledge base. I just wanted to share my experience to help a member potentially avert a possible very large bill.
Anyways no hard feelings. I'm glad the stuff is helping you get a few extra miles out of the engine. We are all here to try to get the longest life from our machines and if its helping you get those few extra miles them I'm all for it.
Live and let live
And thanks phishin. I too let my ego take over in a few posts and for that I apologize to you.

I'm sure it would help consumption, even slightly. And considering it will be additized I'll bet after the zddp activates it would put down its anti-wear layer adding some thickness to the loose rings and over a period of time keep lessening consumption.
At this point it can't hurt can it?

That's what I'd do. VR1 is also pretty cheap too.

The bottle w/contents or just the contents alone? It doesn't say how many or much does it?
They need to clarify things to better understand so one doesn't overdose.

Just melt down the bottle it comes in, and pour that into your leaker/burner, as it would probably have the same (or even better

) results.

Begs the question, was the previous MH a "low performance" Motor Honey?

You are close, it is "Slow Performance". If you're in a hurry, you can forget about emptying the whole bottle into the engine.

I will say the Motor Honey looks COOL. Really the only gimmick oil, I ever really noticed a difference was the chrome can, I think it was called "Restore". I swear, that stuff really seemed to be pour in piston sealer. I had a old Caddy, it would puff a big blue cloud when you started it and use oil. One can of Restore, it stopped and ran better than ever. I wasn't expecting it either. I think I bought it at a clearance sale. Good Stuff.

My Dad used to buy the STP oil treatment by the gallon. It went in everything. Engines, transmissions, rear ends. He went through a lot of STP. He would leave it on top of the motor till it got hot and then pour it in while the engine was running, you could hear the engine smooth out. I tried it as a adult and thought it was pointless. I seen no performance benefits at all. Cool in its day, I guess.
