Hi everybody,
I am Italian and I follow anerican sites regarding cars with much pleasure.
I hit this site while reading on a different BB brand dedicated.

I love this site and I hate it!!!!!

I love it because it is full of info and godd people, I hate it because I had some certainty that now after reading posts are gone!!!

I thought pure Synthetic oil was by definition the best oil for my turbo and it does not seem to be in this way. Much depends on the additives contanined in the oil.
I thought ATF fluid must be synthetic too and it does not seem to be true.
I always had my motors using syn oil, and now I understand that this may cause sludge (and actually my saab ahs some and also a lot of varnish.

You guys has destroyed my belief and I hate you!!!!! lololololol

Now, my first question:

Auto-rx is intryguing me, but I have a fear. Is it possible that the sludge removed will clog some oil line? I mean if it is there and nobody touch it there it remains, if you start pickling it it will begin to circulate and may find a place were to accumulate????

Am I wrong?

Please tell me why if yes!!!

ciao from Italy

Humm I was forgetting, sorry about my english, I know is far to be perfect.

ciao ciao

Enzo SAAB? Who knew!?

No worry on the Auto-Rx - it works pretty slow and methodically. It shouldn't clog anything.

Synthetic is best for turbos, of that I have no doubt. But you still need to change it every so often and do the rest of your maintaining!

ATF is just a lighter oil (about a SAE 10) with a light amount of additives and maybe some friction modifiers. The base oil can be synthetic but doesn't have to be, to be called: "ATF"

ciao

Saab has a sludge problem with their turbo cars, regardless what oil is used. Try searching GM's website on more info and/or warranty extensions on certain Saab motors.

Use the auto rx with good faith. It is darn good stuff.

Welcome my friend.

enzo - Your English is better than some Americans.
Does your engine look dirty [when viewed from the oil fill on the valve cover, for instance]?
It sounds like you take care of your vehicle, and I wonder if you even have any large deposits of any sludge.

Thanks to you and all the other for answering my first post.

The SAAB oil fill is not connected to the cover valve there is a pipe, underneath the oil fill cap, running to the engine body.

Because of that, I took off the valve cover to have a look and I noticed a considerable varnish on the valve cover and also on the other parts, but on the cover was much darker.

Some sludge spotted on bolts and a uniform layer of sludge on the walls area were the timing chain runs to the cranckshaft. I could scrap it with my nails.

Another sign of sludge may be the failed oil pressure sensor which stucked in pressurized position (light off). I changed it and now I am sure thet it will light on if I get a low pressure condition.

That is why I am thinking about Auto-Rx. Problem is that shipment to Italy will be more expensive than the product itself. And even if I asked them to quote me product and shipment they never answered.

About warnish I would be curious to know which part of the oil is taken from it to warnish the engine, and if colder parts gets warinshed more than hot parts (as it appears from my valve cover).

I changed the PCV valve which I found totally open so sucking but also giving back turbo pressure to the valve cover, and from this forum I understood that this may increase warnish but I did not realize why.

Ok, may be I am running

and if it is so please accept my apologize.

With a turbo, I'd use synthetic for sure. Local spots can get insanely hot!
Regular cars will do great on dino - I use it.
For transmissions? Again I think full synth is smart.
