I see no real reason to cut this one open, it appears to be identical to the OEM and Mann Filter except for the black paint and markings. These Filters have enough characteristics that I feel confident in saying it is the same filter.

I think you're right. It does look exactly the same and I know hengst uses an encore design on a lot of their filters.
