I recently bought this GS 400 with 59K miles and want to change the various fluids and need recommendations. The power steering fluid was just changed but I wanted to change the transmission fluid and brake fluid. Should I use Toyota fluids or does SF or someone else have a better product? Is there anything else that I should consider changing...like the differential?

I think Valvoline Synpower Brake fluid gets the nod from the majority of the BITOGers here.

If your owner's manual allows Dex III, then Mobil 1 ATF does fine. I use it in my Tundra. Schaeffer's would be a good choice too. If not Dex III, I would probably use Amsoil. Mobil 1 or Amsoil gear lube should be fine for the diffy too.

Fluid Types:

ATF: Toyota T-IV
Rear Diff: 80w-90

Fluid Capacities:
AT, Drain/Refill: 2.0 qts
AT, Total Capacity: 8.8 qts
Rear Diff: 1.4 qts

So, for the ATF, I'd suggest using Pennzoil or Quaker State Multi-Vehicle ATF (Grp III basestock) or Mola's custom built ATF. Drop the pan (if applicable) and refill, then before starting the car, disconnect the return line from the cooler and run an additional 7 quarts thru the system with the engine running.

For the Rear Differential, technically, any 75w-90 syn is sufficient.
