Help My Brother's A/C

My brother has a 2002 Dodge Stratus R/T coupe. The a/c compressor was replaced last summer. Now, when he turns on the A/C, the LED on the switch flashes and the compressor doesn't engage. He took it to a shop and they couldn't diagnose it. So, I did a bit of Googleing on the subject and it seems to be either the compressor clutch or a speed sensor on the compressor. Does that sound likely?

You could check for power at the clutch switch connector, and hot wire the clutch to see if it will work with power applied.
A dealer is an option, but they may replace all sorts of adjacent parts, with a whopping bill.

Not familiar with that make and model, but some a/c compressors have both a hot wire and a ground wire for the clutch. Check the wiring connections for corrosion/oxidation, clean and tighten and see if that helps.
