I think you would be fine running Rotella Triple T dino oil. Inexpensive, readily available, good additive package and proven in trucks for long periods of time.

Depends on valve spring pressures and how much "break-in" has occurred...

Thanks guys. Really I don't think I can go wrong with a high quality SM or SN rated oil. I'm currently running Delo 400LE 15W-40 and it seems to be running pretty nice in the 22RE.

I chose the Delo 400LE because it has the highest Zn/Ph according to this:

The truth is I'm driving around in an old car with a 29 year old motor. Its ticking because the valves probably need adjusting. Throwing additives at it can only help so much.

The motor was sitting for 12 years and I'm doing some short OCI to try and clean it out a bit. When things settle down I'll just adjust the valve lash and put some RedLine in it.
