You said you added a bottle of ARX and have already driven 1000 miles with it. When you get the car back fro the dealer, insist that they change the oil and filter, and drive some 1000-1200 miles. After that, do another full Auto-Rx treatment. I don't think this engine is toast, it's just not clean.
Continue with 3-4 oz of Auto-Rx when the last cleaning period is done.

My dear GOD! I've seen neglected Chevy's with 200,000Km on them with less [censored] build-up then that! That's RIDICULOUS! If in fact the mileage is accurate, then there is simply no excuse for it.

That was one of the sludge-prone engines.

Scary stuff. My 302's, 330,000Km on each with 12,000Km OCI's look brand-new in comparison.

UPDATE: The dealership service manager just contacted me. He says that it is build up but that if I want the valve cover removed to confirm sludge or carbon that I will have to pay for the labor. He said that if I get all of the serivce records and they are in line with Toyotas recommendations then they might consider it a warranty issue. Something about toyota stating that sludge is not a warranty issue. [censored]!!!!! I told them to pack sand and that I would just remove it myself. Thank god for auto-RX, atleast it will be clean in the end.

Ok first get the records from the Toyota dealership you bought it from. They should have them in their system no big deal. I am preety sure that buy 2006 the sludge issues was well resolved from a design standpoint so it would have to be neglect. Second document everything and contact Toyota directly. Third if that does not get their attention then get an attorney and before long if it is in fact sludge they will replace the engine more then likely.

Now since these deposits are soft I would finish the 1500 mile clean with Auto-Rx and then do your rinse phase. I would get a gallon of Lube Control 20 and use at twice the recomended strength until gone. This will more then get anything that Auto-Rx missed out of that engine and will prevent it's return. Once you get that engine clean you shouldnot have problems. I do long oil changes on my Camry and it clean as a whistle!

People that live in larger city's and communite can spend upwards to 2 hours in traffic driving 5 MPH, so there can be plenty of added run time on the motor.
I think Auto's should have (Run Hour) along with millage recorded on the OD.
