Havoline Dex/Merc 3

Anyone use Havoline ATF? The grocery store has it of all places for a resonable price... I've always used Havoline motor oils, so I thought about using 3 quarts(for the Mustang's manual tranny.) Blue bottle Valvoline is the other option(Maxlife is a little too thin in my limited experience.) What's the normal operating temps for a manual tranny using ATF, assuming "normal," mixed driving? Thanks guys.

I doubt Havoline would make a poor quality ATF. In my old LX 5.0 Stang I sometimes used NAPA ATF and it shifted just fine.

^ I noticed it is slightlythinner at 100*C than some other D/M III ATF's yetslighty thicker than Maxlife, (which I have never used in a manual) according to PDS's. I think I'll pick some up for a fluid change the near future. Thanks.

Havoline is one of Chevron's brand names used for various marketing reasons. Chevron makes excellent products.
