The latest Havoline DS sample is on the left, the earlier sample was Pennzoil YB (SM) on the right. I will say that the Havoline sample had a much tougher life. My commute is now 16mi/day stop and go versus the 50mi/day at low highway speeds I drove on the last sample. Also, I had about .8qt less oil in the crankcase as well (long story... but the capacity in the manual is not very accurate and it really takes about a quart less than specified).

I am happy with the results. The oil sheared back, but since the starting viscosity of DS is lower than YB, it appears to have sheared slightly less. It still ended it's life as a 20 weight, but other samples posted from this engine have had similar shearing as well. Havoline TBN held up equally well.

Nice results on the Taco engine. There is nothing out of line on either report. Looks like Havi DS is a strong oil with a real nice dose of Moly. I have same engine and these results make me confident that this is a low wear engine. The silicon is average. Just curious which air filter are you using.

Thanks for the quick reply, I plan on doing a UOA on this OCI which is the second run of Valvoline WB 5w-20. I hav ehad a AFE Pro DryS air filter in now for about 10K and will compare my silicon number to your for reference. Thanks for the UOA.
