This Blackstone analyzed sample was taken while running a Supertech ST8 oil filter and K&N drop-in air filter. In addition to normal driving, I made one four wheeling trip and did two weekend campouts towing my pop-up camper on this OCI. The Jeep has 95.5K miles currently.

I think that even with the slightly thinned viscosity, there is no reason for me to do anything different. The iron content looks comparatively low for this engine which is a good sign.

I totally agree with your assessment. Judging from your silicon numbers the K@N is doing a good job filtering. I run a K@N FIPK on my TJ for DD duties but throw the stock airbox and paper filter on for my offroading days. My silicon numbers have also always been low.
I would not change a thing and that 4.0 should last another 100K.

Yet again - Havoline = low Fe. Seems there are a batch of these recently. Something in the Havoline chemistry seems to protect iron wear surfaces better than other oils. I've noticed it before, but all of a sudden there are several UOAs where it is actually noticed, almost in a row. More than coincidence.

What is the flash? Pretty good, I would assume. Looks like a 10W-30 dino oil shows a step change improvement in holding viscosity grade. North Carolina is a great area to use 10W year around. 5K is a lot of miles for such good results for this engine.

I'm impressed.

Doesn't this engine usually show about 25-40 PPM of iron in a typical UOA?

This may be the lowest iron I've seen in a Jeep 4.0L UOA.

I've seen a couple better, A recent UOA with Valvoline Maxlife 10W30 had 1 ppm Fe@3073 miles
and another with Mobil 1 T&SUV 5W40 had 23 ppm Fe @ 12498 miles.
But this one is defintiely right up there with the best.
Another 4.0 UOA with Havoline 10W30 didn't do as well, showing 24 ppm @ 3000 miles.
