Question about our 99 Civic and our 06 Corolla, both with ATs...

Is there a separate differential fluid I need to check/change on these rigs, or does the ATF fluid do double duty?

Nothing mentioned in the Corolla OM about it, and I can't seem to find anything on the web.

TIA~

On the Corolla I'm about 98% sure same fluid.

Not sure on the Civic.

My Subaru has ATF for the Trans and gear oil for the Axle/Transfer case.

Yeah, I looked there and none was listed, but I just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing something.

Go over to corolland.com or Toyota nation. There are a couple of guys at corolland who really know their stuff and can tell you whether or not it has a seperate diff.

Honda for sure...never had a toyota so I don't know. The CV shafts come right out of the trans...if you remove them, trans fluid will drain out and there is no other reservior.
