It's been a while since I first went to the crucial site just to see what products (ram) they have available foe the computer. (Dreaming) This last time was a big surprise. I down loaded a scanning tool that selects the best option for my system when adding more ram. I was under the impression that there wasn't much more this old system could handle. But According to the NEW scan tool, it says I can increase my 8GB to 32GB for just 56.00. Needless to say I'll be looking into this in a few weeks.

Glad you found out about it, but that feature has been available for 10-15 years. I remember using that feature years ago.

But, do you need 32GB of RAM? Probably not if you’ve been fine with 8… what do you use it for?

Good up sell on Crucials part, worked as intended.
RAM only affects performance once you’re at the capacity limit and the system starts offloading to the SSD or HDD.
If your usage is nowhere near the limit, more RAM will not add performance gains.
