My car is a 98 Buick Regal GS, 3.8L S/C. Its modded a bit, and I take good care of it

The previous owner ran Valvoline 10w30 at 3000 mile interval changes. I swapped in Amsoil 10w30 in with a Mobil1 M101 filter. Its at the 2000 mile mark, and Im ready to change it again because it probably will be dirty from cleaning the engine out.

My car sees periodical racing days, and I really dont have a light foot at other times. Is Amsoil overkill, or does Mobil 1 really serve the same purpose? I plan on changing it out every 3000 anyways, due to how I drive, and due to short trips.

Thanks

I would use the oil that costs you less. For 3,000 mile oil changes I would recommend any of the petro oils that are posted in the uoa section that gives good results as the wear numbers don't justify syn oil for low mile oil changes .

Price doesnt matter to me. I love my car, so it gets better treatment than I do

Just changed it, AMsoil 10w30 with PureOne PL10111 filter.

From what i have read here, the L67 is really easy on oil. Do a search for our(I own a GTP) engine in the Used Oil Analysis section and see what people are running, and what interval they are running at.
