Has this penguin made the rounds yet?

Cute little morsel.....smart too! I would be more than a little nervous being in that boat myself

Hmmmm, humans, or killer whales? I'd take my chances with the humans too. Whatever they are, they've never tried to eat me!

I like how everyone, at least as they appeared in the video, left the thing alone and didn't try and pet it and whatnot. He (or she) appeared to continue acting like a penguin amongst the humans. Then again, I guess it really didn't have much choice. What else was it going to do?

Pretty intelligent behavior from the bird and one species of mammals. The human behavior shown here is highly illegal in the Puget Sound. The orcas obviously didn't want a boat snack, but they checked out where The Penguin had sought refuge.

They sure has a serous plan in effect to corner the thing. I imagine it would have eventually just tired and made a mistake. Good thing the orca appear to like humans. I haven't heard of any aggressive behavior out of captivity. I did hear that a pair apparently conspired to(and even practiced) killing a trainer.

It's obvious that they find us amusing and tolerate us in the wild.

I think the regs here are 100 feet for incidental contact, and 250-300 feet for purposeful observing (doan exactly remember). I don't think they like the flavor of dry stringy polyester/polar fleece/paxil/viagra/tofu flesh. The round ones are mostly water/beer/cofee with just a hint of old dry beef as well.

Yes the Orcas get a little Pi%%ey in captivity. When I was down in San Diego one bit a trainer at SeaWorld.

Needless to say when my Daughter and I went to the Orca show the trainers were not going swimming with the Orcas at that point. Kinda put a damper on the show.

This was about 2+ years ago. I don't know if they are back to swimming with the Orcas now.

He could have hailed a dolphin cab and hitched a ride.
