The Icon 1/2" digital, flex-head, torque wrench was my main goal. I have a very old, 1/2" Mac Tools clicker, but always wanted a digital. I scoped out two stores "near" me. Each only had two, and no other stores in a 30 mile radius of Austin had stock, according to the store manager who did the search. The closer store is high traffic and the other is twice as far, but one of the lowest-volume HF stores in the area. Target selected.
I got there well before they opened, and within minutes, others started arriving. One guy I spoke to brought his wife. They had gone to that store yesterday and created a plan of action, drawing maps showing the locations of items they were after, and each were assigned specific items. Quite the tactical operation.
I went straight for the torque wrench, got one, then went to get a cart. The tactical-couple checked out before me, and had a full cart once they combined their items. Mine was overflowing, but I bought several moving blankets for under $5 each, and they took up a lot of space. They're great, because at that price, you don't feel guilty if something happens to them.
By the time I left, the second torque wrench was still on the shelf.
