I have been wanting to make some little metal storage boxes, so I got this brake. No use posting a picture of the brake, since it looks just like the picture on the harbor freight website. For my first project, I decided to make a box out of a piece of 8" round sheet metal ducting I have laying around, since I don't really need it for anything else. It turns out that the ducting is 30 ga., so of course it bent it without problem. As thin as this box is, I can definitely find a use for it.

I managed to mig weld the corners. Didn't blow too many holes, and I was able to patch them up. It's not water tight, though.

I think I'll go down to my local metal supply soon, and grab some 24 ga. galv. sheet. Then I can make some more serious boxes.

Is that galvanized? If so be careful welding that. The fumes would be very bad to breath. Use a large fan if you have to.
