Not sure why but that was one of the best shows when we were kids. Benny was pretty funny too.
Same with the Man Show later. Not sure why.

I have not seen a Benny Hill episode in years. I didn't know he was still around. Very funny.

Psychological trickery!
Benny Hill's initial US released shows were OK in my book. The reinstated "jiggle" segments, which were billed as "The Unexpurgated Benny Hill Show", were not exactly Shakespeare.
'Twas too bad when Benny and Red Green (Canadian comic) both stepped well out of character and mocked their own shows in their final year. Benny would quip familiarly about Thames Television (his later production house) and Red would call his show 'crap' in skits.

When I was a teen, me and my brother used to stay up late at night to watch “ The Benny Hill Show “………strictly for the Comedy
