Halloween.webp

I live on a dead end unpaved road. The homes are 500 feet apart, and in addition, my driveway is over 400 feet long. There is no outdoor lighting. And, on this road, there are no families with kids. In 22 years, I have never seen a Trick or Treater.

So, I buy no candy. But I have a small stash of $1 coins to give out if a kid ever shows up.

This might be the first year in many that we don't go out... the youngest is almost 18 and quite busy. We'll see but I don't think we have plans.

I’m neutral on Halloween. I don’t really like it anymore now that I’m too old to participate in it but it’s nice to see all the kids have fun. We used to only get about 5 or 6 trick or treaters but last year we had about 50 or 60 I’d say. I’m just ready for Christmas honestly lol.

I usually end up working Halloween but have this year off. A couple of years ago I forgot and left my porch light on. I got a knock and was like oh yeah. All I had were a few full sized candy bars, and then promptly turned off the light. I always watch Spaced Invaders if I have Halloween off, if you haven't seen it, it's worth a watch as it's a comedy.
