24000km out of a set of tyres?? Not doubting you for a moment, but I just can't comprehend them lasting that long. Surely the rear tyre would be squared off and making the handling fairly ordinary?

Not really squared off at all; most of my riding is done on curvy mountain roads so the profile remains close to original. I ride a 60Mi section of road where I spend more time leaned over than I do full upright. My speed rarely exceeds 60MPH thus my remarkable gas mileage and tire wear.
