I am fortunate to have 2 Greek friends that work at a restaurant near me that make gyros and geos and even real grape leaves. Very good and for $8~ well worth it. Girlfriend and I stopped in tonight for a gyro and she loved it. Anyone here have a favorite place for them? Or do you make your own?

I don’t make my own. Not that skilled lol. We have a pretty good little family owned restaurant here in town that has some good ones. Don’t think I’ve ever had a Geo though but I’ve had a Gyro. Nothing like a Gyro and Mint Tea 🤤.

I buy the Gyro meat at Sprouts, and then make my ow tzatziki sauce and get great pita bread at a local middle eastern store down the street. It takes a while to make everything but nothing beats home made, plus I enjoy cooking.

Around here, I can't say that I've found a particularly good gyros place. None of them compare to gyros sold by street vendors in Europe.

What's geos?

Never had a gyro but I do enjoy Greek food. My wife made chicken souvlaki this week. I put it in a pita with store bought tzaziki, pickels and crushed Italian hot peppers in oil, as a twist.

I ate at best gyros last week. They have the meat spits. GOOOD STUFF.

I ate at the northfield location its almost across the street from MGM Casino(Formerly Hard Rock Rocksino) if you have ever been there.

Buffalo has a Greek restaurant by the airport. Their breakfast was excellent. I forget the name but there is a pink buffalo outside it if someone knows the place.

The main difference between a gyro and shawarma is the tzatziki sauce and meat. That said, my favorite shawarma place is Boston Shawarma near Northeastern Univ. It is absolutely outstanding.

Usually i will stop there after work for take out after work every other friday. Anytime i have had to go to the Akron area for training, there is a place called Shawarma Brothers in Cuyahoga Falls that makes amazing gyros and Shawarma as well

I don't make my own gyros. There's a good gyros place not far away. I do make my own dish kebab. I.prefer kebab because it's less fatty compared to gyros.

My go to restaurant for gyros closed years ago. They had the old style vertical rotisserie and sliced the meat (lamb?) when the customer ordered their sandwich. I haven’t had a good gyro since they closed.
Thinking NOT lamb, Gyro meat, tasty stuff though.

I used to go to a place that had the real meat spinning and they'd slice it off for each gyro but they were ahead of their time and went out of business. Now, I buy the, I assume, frozen stuff from the Greek diner in town. It's not bad. There is a real gyro place in Vegas outside of Bally's that I passed for a few year before finally trying it last year and was very disappointed.
