There's been a mob start up downunder "Gulf Western" http://www.gulfwestern.com.au/racing.asp?id=v8_overview

If the link gets removed, then google on Gulf Western.

They're selling a 20W-50 SL/CF-4 dino engine oil for $2.10 per litre, about half the price of Pennzoil, Shell, Mobil etc.

They claim that their synthetics are PAO.

I've got an enquiry with them at present, and will keep you all advised what I hear.

BTW, their premium oil is Gulf Western "1" at 10W-60.

On the Comp 50 product is that a typo where it says formulated to give ultimate protection of engines ?

Should engines be replaced with the word gearboxes

. Is that a new and upcoming company in Australia ?

Well I'll be.
The bloke that owns Gulf Western, Peter Vicary, when I first knew him, had a home improvement/landscaping company, and a mini crete company. Also had a hand in numerous other things around town. He used to get around Penrith in a variety of 'hot' cars like an M5 and Corvette.

Just goes to show, a good businessman can make money in any type of business.

Rick.

Had an extended chat with one of their lube guys today.

Seemed pretty switched on.

Their "semi synths" he confirmed were PAO and GrII, the synths PAO.

Might have to go down Penrith way and see what they've got.

Motorbike, looks like it's emerging pretty well.

As to 25W-70 being gearbox oil, I ran a 25W-70 half of last winter to see how it would blow filters, and wreck engines...it didn't
