Since the interest in camera brands and models is so great, I would expect many of you to be able to tell me what equipment I used to take this snapshot of my Venus flytrap. Please note the nasty compression artifacts and color fringing typical of consumer grade point&shoot cameras.

I actually have a video of it. I touched the trigger hairs with a toothpick and the plant clamped down.

Maybe I'll upload it.

No EXIF data?

Those blinds are actually an interesting optical illusion... or they are at least messing with my head if I stare at them.

Does the plant like McNuggets?

I started stripping the EXIF data from all images a couple years ago when people kept asking the one question I didn't care to hear.

My flytrap has never caught a bug.

Looks like GIMP or Irfanview instead of Photoshop. The camera is more difficult.

Is it one of these?

I'll be in Pismo Beach for a few days, so may not see your answer for a while

Uh, I often crop.

I always use Photoshop. I haven't touched Gimp in a couple years. The image was saved "for Web" (which strips EXIF data), which results in compression suitable for Web use.

We can't have that!

I used this Chinese $10 dongle to take the Venus flytrap picture:

But what camera did I use to shoot the dongle? Here, for your amusement:

Camera: Fuji Finepix S9000
Sensor: 1/1.6" Type CCD, 9.2 million pixels
Image size: 3488 x 2616 (size reduced to 576x433 pixels in Photoshop)
File format: JPEG
Lens: 28 - 300 mm (35 mm equiv) 10.7x optical zoom, F 2.8 - 4.9, (F2.8 - F11 range); picture taken at 50 mm (35 mm equivalent)
Focus: auto
AF area mode: TTL contrast type, AF center w/AF-lock
Focus distance: macro
Metering: TTL 256-zone metering
ISO sensitivity: ISO 200
Exposure compensation: +1/3 EV
Shutter speed: 1/25
Aperture: F8
Mode: Aperture priority
White balance: custom
Image parameters: Standard
Viewfinder: EVF, 235,000 pixels
LCD monitor: 1.8" TFT LCD, 118,000 pixels
Connectivity: USB 2.0
Storage: xD-Picture Card
Power: 4x AA NiMH
Weight (no batt): 645 g (22.8 oz)
Dimensions: 128 x 93 x 129 mm (5 x 3.6 x 5 in)

Given adequate functionality, there is no correlation between the tool and the result. What hammer do you use for pounding a nail into a wall?

What's the point in asking what equipment was used? You are looking at tiny 96 dpi images!
