As expected, the setbacks to GTL production from increased capital costs have opened the door for GRP III to strengthen its market position.

As Grp III capacity increases and costs lower, I have heard some industry consultants question if GTL has sufficient technical/cost advantages to become a factor in the next decade, especially as 0W-xx oils can now be made from full Grp III.

Thanks Tom. I did not know SK Energy is the largest producer of Grp III base oils.
 
IIRC, chevron is opening a huge new plant to make group III someplace down south.

Something like $18Billion is being spent on the shell GTL plant in the middle east... Crazy costs.
