i normally run havoline 5w30 (grp2) in my wife's villager, but wallyworld was out and i thought about using mobil drive clean (grp1 i believe) instead. my oci is 3500 miles. both oils are sl rated. would it matter about group 1,2 etc. any thoughts ? thanks ?

You will be fine with the Mobil Drive Clean oil you are using this time...it's not group I only and is a good motor oil and is formulated thicker than most other 30wts
I do not know for sure but I've heard that grp 1 oils are very rarely (if ever) used for passenger car oils anymore. I'd be very surprised if the Mobil product you mention is grp 1 based. Someone here will know and post definitive specs.
Secondly, if it is an SL rated oil it has had to endure minimum tests whcih are relative to 3000 drain intervals. The "Drive Clean" product will be fine for your 3500 mile intervals.
