green tinge on the sparkplugs?

If your compression in an admitted quick-n-dirty test is at the top end of the range, don't be so sure that's a fantastic result because the engine is so great.

Compression will fall from ring wear, and it will go up from carbon buildup. Generally the latter occurs first unless the owner takes steps to reduce carbon buildup. That's why older cars tend to "ping", carbon decreases the combustion chamber size at TDC, yielding higher effective compression, leading to pre-detonation and possible retarded timing.

Inspect for carbon buildup visually, and consider checking a couple of things to see if you're building up carbon faster than you should. (low RPM driving, choice of fuel, use of fuel cleaners, running too rich)

I'm not saying any of these specifically relates to green spark plugs, but higher compression readings are not universally better in all situations. Being within 5% of each other is a good thing in all cases.

would ping a little going up steep hills so i Seafoamed the ---- out of it through tank (3cans for 5 gallons) and 1 can via the PCV valve and all is well 15k miles later.. she blew smoke that could be picked up on radar haha.. but she purs like a kitten and went up 4mpg for it too. no kiddin'
 
wow half my post didnt post... hmm to add to what i said, i was talking about my tacoma v6 at 80k miles it would ping and how seafoam at a high concentrate fixed it

no i use Denso in my yota and if you go online to yota and honda discussion forums there are tons of cases where Bosch plugs and or other non recommended plugs gave ignition problems, bad idle, bad gas mileage, poorer response.. but i am just helping out here if you want to use Bosch (whose temps ranges are very different than that of NGK or Denso which most japanese cars go with) then thats fine. ignorance is bliss and will cost ya in the long run. btw look up MOKANIC on this site and shoot him a pm about using bosch plugs in hondas and toyotas (he used to be a mech for toytota for years) see what he says.. haha

sounds like blaming the plugs when new plugs dont cure other problems.

i am not blaming anything... i was merely stating that he should take those bosch plugs out of his japanese ingnition system.. anyone with half a brain and do some research will show you thats a smart thing to do. but hey its not my car i was just trying to help out.. did honda and toyota come out of the factory tuned with bosch??? uuuuuhhhhh no! ngk or denso. i know toyotas whole ignition system is denso so why put a cheap bosch in?? esp since it burns/ sparks at a different temp.. does not make any sense to me but hey again its not my car.. good luck fellas............

I think that copper is the most logical with the info given and perhaps a chnage to platnium would be in order.
