green oil

Hi guys. I was checking the oil in my new craftsman push-mower (it is the origanal factory oil) and it was GREEN!. Does the factory put some weird chemical in the oil to help the new engine? Or do I need to be concerned? It is a good push mower, accept for the engine almost stalling when it is at an angle.(which I can understand). I've never seen green oil in any of my new small engines. (what the heck?)

It could be a trace dye to verify the type of oil in it, or show leaks under UV in quality testing.

I changed out my wifes factory fill on her Kia Rio. It was also GREEN! I think it was a dye mixed in to check for leaks.

my factory fill in my car was green. I also noticed the last 20oz bottle of Craftsman labeled 30w oil had a green tint to it when I was pouring it in.

Schaeffer's 9000 5w-40 is actually green oil. I've been using it in my VW TDI.

Sounds like its the original Green Elixir Of The Gods, German Castrol. Don't tell anyone.....

I just used Briggs and Stratton branded oil in my push mower and it had a noticeable greenish tint.
