Maybe this is a bit of a newbie question, but how do you grease drive shafts without having the grease go everywhere? Last time I greased a drive shaft, making sure all the old stuff came out, after driving the truck it made a nice "line" across the underside by each joint. I tried cleaning it up as best I could before hand, but it still made a mess. It sent some onto exhaust parts, and smelled like it was burning - I was a little worried about fire.

OK, I won't worry about it then. I figure grease has a pretty high combustion point, and it shouldn't be getting on the catalytic converter anyway.

I just don't really like the grease all over, especially the front where it's probably going to get on the motor. Thanks!
