Grease for Screw Drive Garage door opener

I'm tired of buying those stupid little tubes of red grease that Genie makes. Does anyone have a good substitute ?

I use Amsoil's synthetic spray grease. Seems to do fine.

I used some Amsoil synthetic heavy duty moly fortified grease on ours.

The Genine lube is made by LubriPlate... maybe you can find some of this:

My Sears door opener with the screw type I put grease on it and it was all kind of headaches in the winter. It took for ever to clean it out and I started using Amsoil MP. I even used the MP to help clean the grease out of the channel.

Thank You for the link and all your replies. There's a local indy autoparts dealer that carry's Amsoil, Lubriplate and American Grease Stick that manufactures a similar product. THANKS AGAIN!!!

I use an oil / grease combo that works very well.

I was able to get Grainger to obtain some Lubriplate Low Temp for me. All the garage door guys that aren't installing Lift-Masters keep it on their trucks.

We use Lubriplate Low Temp too. it works, doesn't smell too bad either.

OTOH, I use SuperTech EP grease on the sliding surface of Lift-Master/Chamberlain/Craftsman rails - and Lubriplate Low Temp on the worm gear in the opener.
