Grease Fitting (Zerk) Brand?

The old 4Runner has been around the block a few times and between various greaseable aftermarket parts and repairs it has quite an assortment of grease fittings. I decided this week to service them all, and a few zerks were blown up -- wouldn't accept grease or would spit it back out.

I'd need an assortment of M6-1.0 zerks to cover this vehicle and other projects for the years to come. I'd like to stay away from cheapo ones.

There's an assortment on eBay labelled "Coronet" brand (made in USA). Sound like a good option?

Where would you go for something like this? NAPA?

Personally, yeah I would go to NAPA. Ask if they have more than 1 brand and if so go ahead and look at both of them and see if one is better quality.

I would not think the Chinese would feel cloning cheap zerk fittings would be a huge money maker and worth doing. They are very functional, but low tech.

I will bet there are only a handful of companies making zerk fittings.

A bulldozer mechanic once told me he fixes most stuck zerks with some heat from a torch. Hardened grease.

Also remember a lever gun has the most power of any hand operated grease gun.

The pneumatic and cordless ones may have even more, not sure.
