I'm back to considering an Ultrawide Monitor. While dual monitors do have advantages, I like the idea of an UW and having just one dedicated monitor. I currently have a 27" Pixio 1440p and to the side of that a 21" 1080p. I love the Pixio for work and games. My graphics card is a GTX 1660. From what I've read, this gc will struggle to push a decent frame rate at 3440 × 1440 . Does anyone have any recommendation for a GPU for pushing UW resolution?

You can always bump the resolution or graphics down a slight bit. I moved to a 2560x1080 UW with a Vega 64. I have a couple of games I could do ultra 75 fps at 1920x1080 but drop down to 60ish fps at 2560x1080. I turned shadows down a setting and back to 75 FPS. It was worth it for the UW ratio and I don't even notice the drop in shadow quality.

So your UW runs at max 2560 x 1080....how does that look in comparison to a 1440p?

The Nvidia 30x0 has just released ...the last gen 20x0 card very soon will be a fire sale. I have nvidia 1080ti and it pushes a 2560x1600 60fps without issue. You should look also at the rest of the system make sure it is up to the task but a 20x0 series card should push anything below 4K@120 full settings.

I am not completely sure. I haven't really used a 1440p UW. But i can say the quality of the screen I purchased is better than 99% of 1080p screens I have used. It is not quite as nice for reading text as a 1440p standard wide screen, but when gaming I don't notice a difference.

I'm going to wait until I get a better GPU to run 1440p on an UW. My 1440p at 27"'s is great. (Pixio) I don't think I could go back to 1080p on anything larger than a 24". I really want an ultrawide though.

I may be looking to sell my Asus 2080ti if the new 30xx cards ever get back in stock and if my friend doesn't want the 2080ti. If you're interested I'll let you know.
