I finally got fed up with constantly cleaning my corroded battery cables. I had 2 Die Hard Gold batteries in my truck and no matter what I did they kept leaking acid and/or acid fumes around the posts and corroding my terminals.
I tried cleaning them with baking soda. Putting those felt washers under the cables, Putting Penny's on the battery's, Siliconing the post to the case, paint and battery protector spray.
Even had the charging system checked out and it's not overcharging them. Nothing would stop the mess from coming back!
Other than that the batteries were still good. Opened my hood today only to find a huge green and white glob on the cables.
So fed up with this I started searching for AGM batteries. Optima does not make a group 65 in an AGM battery. I was not sure if the Optima's would fit as they are taller than my 65's.
A-Zone had 2 AGM group 65's in stock for $159ea so I grabbed those. These are not supposed to gas and foul up the cables. We shall see.
