Not exactly sure what the deal was. I was behind one exiting a parking lot and then making the same right turn. Driver was really slow. Maybe 20 MPH in a 25 and later I'd estimate 25 in a 40. So I was a little bit mischievous and did some mild weaving in the 25 street before making the right turn. He's making the turn real slow, and I make the right and later pass him on his left to accelerate past him. I never made eye contact or even drove terribly aggressively. Then I notice the bird. Dude was maybe late 20s/early 30s and not grandpa. As I went past he was still driving really slow. Couldn't figure out what the deal was.

Maybe he was driving that slow to avoid that gas engine from running. I think they click on around 31 mph. Funny when I see them flying down the highway, way above the speed limit.

Prius drivers usually want to MAXIMIZE their fuel economy by watching that stupid little economy meter.

When I was in Florida, I rented a Prius and trust me it was hammer down. When I filled up before I turned it in I ended up getting 44MPG.

My guess, as well.

I always found it amusing when a Prius passed me doing 80+ mph on the highway. It peeved me that they were driving an uber-economical vehicle so uneconomically, but then I realized that they were still probably getting 50-70% better gas mileage than me!

Most Prius vehicles are equipped with a "trunk monkey" so I would drive more courteous next time.

I try to get around the foolish Prius drivers as fast as I can when I drive. The Prius may get better gas mileage than my vehicles, but they are very slow b**t* that need to stay in the slow lane. My opinion.

We have that here too.. I applaud the ones who actually drive the speed limit.. unless its in the fast lane.

They often try to merge at 35 and wonder why they end up stopped on the on-ramp too.65mph speed limit.

Trying to get on the highway behind them is horrid too.

It's not the car, it's the driver. I'm one of the faster drivers in my area and I drive limit +10 MPH in my prius all the time.

As A matter of fact, a very similar thing happened to me when I drove my prius and impatiently passed a slow driver in BMW convertible as soon I had a chance, it was a middle aged woman who turned out later to be a new person in our neighborhood.

Some people just have a chip on their shoulders.. we've all had it happen. Really want to get even blow them a kiss regardless of sex age etc. Most of the time it shocks them to point they're not sure what to do!

Getting flipped off by a Prius driver is like getting shut down by a plain woman in a bar.
You should try not to laugh, although it might be unavoidable.

The odd thing is that I'm used to drivers giving the bird if they think you cut them off or if they perceive you're driving too slow. All the old geezers who drive slow just do what they do and don't make eye contact or gesture. They seem wrapped in their own little bubble. This is the first time I've seen someone driving slow and apparently peeved that others consider him to be as such.
