GOOGLE Desktop?

My Dell came with google desktop. Anyone using this? I use the google search box at the top, and thats it. I deleted google desktop.

yep, same here. came with my new IBM/Lenovo R60 laptop. I noticed it running all the time. I guess I can find where my stuff/folders are on my own laptop w.out google.

I deleted it immediately.

They index your entire PC while it is idle supposedly, so that is the activity thatyou were seeing. I have never used them.

Google desktop is the greatest thing since GC. I use it everyday. It is the best search feature I've ever used.

When you do a search it searches the internet & your computer. It's great.

I think it also sends supposedly "anonymous" information about your pc files back to google also.

I used it at my previous job and LOVED it. Not allowed by IT to have it here though
