no way I can agree with Hankook … the only expensive tire I literally put 4 at the curb at 10k … replaced with Goodyear Eagle GTII that were far better in the rain …

Can't recall the exact name … but have GY Assurance DT edition on the Cruze … 25k and looking like they will do 50k
They are certainly smoother than the BFG's it had … they were done at 35k ...

Tire chains, outside of DT, have a few tiers of tires:

Junk you would never want

Crap that you would use, but are priced too high

Name-brands, but only the worst models, and ++ pricing

Premium tire models at Ferrari prices

So, better chances of a square deal at a retailer like Firestone, or a place you can order your choice of tires at a decent price, like WalMart

Mail-order BYO to car dealership is great if you have a good relationship with them.

Mail-order BYO to a place like W*M is ok, but they charge about $100 M&B now.

I'm on really good terms w/local Firestone, my BYO tires are $52 a set M&B now! They love me there.

Goodyear has done a good job with the Assurance series - I was seriously eyeing those for the parent's van and a friend's Subie. The TripleTreds would have been amazing on the Subie.

Cooper is the king of private label tires. Goodyear doesn't make any private label tires, except for Walmart

Wrong. Vogue tires for one.

They are now made by Sailun

I read somewhere that Goodyear was exiting the private label tire sector
