so i just bought a brand new cadillac srx. this is going to be our "travel the country" in our retirement car. we get free oil changes for 50k from our caddy dealer. they use dexos 5w30 syn blend. so who makes this stuff? Thanks, guys.
I'm pretty sure it's made by XOM.
I've seen ACDelco Dexos, and it looks just like the Mobil bottles, so it is almost definitely Exxon-Mobil. I think it's 50% syn.
I have a GMC Sierra that I bought new, it now has 14k miles and I've had it almost two years. I'm letting the GMC dealer change mine, and I think they probably use AC/Delco Dexos. I guess the GMC dealer has confidence in it, so, I'm going with it. If it has the Dexos rating, it should be fine, IMO.
Will every dealership actually use dexos1 oil in every engine requiring it? Or will they use cheap bulk 5W-30 from a low-bid supplier? My bet is on the latter.

+1 Mobil 1 is the FF for their higher end vehicles as well. it is the Mobil synblend essentially. Use it with confidence and enjoy your new car!

As other have mentioned, most likely made by Mobil.
PQIA tested this oil recently. Looks pretty good: http://www.pqiamerica.com/June%202014/ACdelco.htm?utm_source=July+3%2C+2014&utm_campaign=7-3-2014&utm_medium=email
