Good grease that doesnt melt?

Where can I get some good grease that does not melt.
would prefer something suitable for all uses including tractor, old car, utility trailer, boat trailer. etc.

I dont use very much so something like 3 tubes.

I have autozone, advance auto, napa, TSC nearby.
I would consider ordering if I dont have to order a case.. and shipping isnt retarded.

any advice/options?

They all melt, just at different temps. Grease fortified with a solid lubricant like moly will keep lubricating some even after the oil in the grease is gone.

Which doesn't mean you should run the grease that long.

The right way to pick a grease to use on all those applications is to look up the specs for the greases that the manufacturer specified. Then find a grease that meets or exceeds those specs.

If it were me I'd probably use something like Aeroshell 33MS. Overkill for most applications to be sure but I like it.

I meant melt as in make a mess and leak out of the grease gun even with the pressure off.

I was just getting ready to start a thread on this very topic.

I had an entire cartridge of Sta-Lube all purpose grease in my Lincoln grease gun that melted while just hanging in the garage. It's the light brown, almost tan stuff that comes in a light blue cartridge. I got tired of it dripping on the garage floor, so I hung it outside on the backyard fence. That made it melt even faster it seems. It's summertime right now in California and the daytime temperatures have been between 95F and a 100F.

What's the solution guys? Keep it in the refrigerator?

I just switched from Mobil 1 synthetic to "Green Grease" when I replaced my front wheel bearings. I'll see how it works out. As sticky as that stuff is I will probably start using it on the front end as well. The Mobil 1 just seems to not stay in place very well. But we are talking about a 73 Caddy here. Not a modern car. There is a LOT of weight up front. I don't know how good the green grease is but I guess I'll find out. From working with it I highly doubt it will "melt".

Can you find out for sure? Put some in a jar maybe? You got any 100 degree days up there in Utah?
 
From what I understand ALL grease will separate a little. I'm no grease expert but that "green grease' is the stickiest, heaviest bodied stuff I ever got on my hands as far as "regular" grease is concerned. I'm sure there are others just like it and even more so depending on the application. We have been around 80 degrees lately. No hundred degree days here lately that know of. I think they said it is good to 450 degrees. I'm not worried about it in the heat. I'm worried about how it will work at 0 degrees this winter.
 
Oil seperating from grease is called "bleed" a few percent bleed is normal. However when incompatible greases are mixed together like a Litium and a sodium they will "de gel" and run like a heavy gear oil.

I've used a few .. M1 had the worst leak out of the gun rate.. was past annoying.

The grease gun wasnt even left in the sun or a hot car.

I'll be trying out the green grease when we repack the utility trailer bearings. None of my uses are really that heavy duty. If it will stand up in boat wheel bearings and a 2000lb loaded light utility trailer.. I'm sure it will work for anything else I use it in. I'll make sure to clean out all the old grease.
 
Can you lay the gun flat?

I'm on my first grease gun and first tube and am thinking this stuff won't last long. First the grease (red Mystik) was leaking out the end tube, so I pointed it up. But now it is coming out of the back of the gun. No way to win in this situation, but as one posted said to take the spring off. Do you just pull the lever out of the back when not in use, then latch it back in when you need to hit a alamite?
