As I mentioned above, I have unfortunately seen wonderful looking properties end up in bad situations because the new owner did not review the local large, empty tracts of land for ownership and potential uses.
Happened to my in-laws (IL). They have a beautiful old cabin in the mountains - land owner of the adjacent land sold to a new group (NG) and they promptly starting putting in more density, including RVs. The NG is pushing for as much density as they can legally get and this is impacting my ILs very negatively. As a matter of fact, they intend to sell their property now (and it will look very beautiful on the Realtor's page), but as soon as someone sees it in person they will know why my ILs are selling.

I know that GON knows this so I'm just putting this out there for anyone else who hasn't ever run across this. It really stinks when it happens and most times you see it coming a little too late.
