Golf R 333 Special Edition $81k. SOLD OUT

It's a marketing gimmick. For a Golf, that is way too pricey. I would rather buy a 1988 edition SVR Pacey with almost the same price and be happy

Really, it's just a crunched-and-folded Jetta, with bigger tires, better engine and fancy paint. Just 3.5 years ago, one could find base model Jetta's for $12K, new.
And they lost $700-$800 on every base model Jetta sold. Hence why dealerships tryed to no stock any.

You got it wrong . A Jetta was and always will be a Golf with trunk…..however days are numbered for it.

Maybe this model will also emit more emissions/NOX while driving and therefore, command a special price. VW..... They're just special that way. o_O

What a joke, also this thing selling out fast doesn't mean much. It just means that there are still delusional exotic car scalpers thinking that they're gonna be able to flip this thing for a profit like they did with the new corvettes, escalades, broncos ect.

Can't wait to see these things sell for less than MSRP after a while because it's mainly scalpers and maybe just a couple weird eccentric guys that genuinely want it and don't actually care.

The golf with and without the R is a great car but there is nothing about it that sets it apart from itself or any other car of it's class like a world-winner 22B Impreza or Evo VI. The only thing that will hold it's value up is the 333 folks that bought it but IMO it'll fall on it's face like the Nismo 350/370 and Evo X FE.
