I have put 75 miles, and 8.7 hours on my 07 Rancher.
It has been ridden HARD since mile 1.

Should I do one more run on the honda oil or go ahead and do Syn?

The oil I have waiting is Amsoil 10w30 4 stroke small engine oil.
Its not specifically for atvs but has no friction modifiers and has the Jaso MA Spec.

Id rather use a specific bike oil ,but Honda reccomends 10w30 for this application ,and that was the only 10w30 that seemed to be closest to the specs.

The manual does allow for 10w40 so I may do amsoil 10w 40 on the next round.

What do yall think?

I would do one more run with the Honda oil before I went to synthetic. If the Amsoil 10W30 is JASO MA you should be good to go with it.

I have the Amsoil 10W40 bike oil in a couple of bikes now and I like the product so far.

I ran the Honda oil in my 05 Rancher for less than 100 miles because it started using the stuff. I switched to Amsoil 0W-40 and it stopped using it.
Same goes for my girlfriend's 04 Yamaha Bruin and it was visibly smoking on start-up and deceleration.

I know the new Rancher's are a different breed but Amsoil is great in my book.

I run the factory fill in my Harley's 100 miles before I go synthetic. I change the oil at 100,500,1000,2500 and then every 3000.
