...well not really...but it does seem that anything works as long as it is filled up.

I talked to a Midwest Honda parts dealer and he said that pressure lube and a filter makes a lot of difference and the better synthetic oils extend life quite a bit with this type of set up.

A splash set-up is oly a disaster when mowing inclines and when the oil gets used up. Tolerances on splash engines is looser.
You need to chesk the oil more often and a heavier viscosity (30wt) is best.

Henry Ford I. in the very early days... actually used lard in the crankcase.

Must have smelled like a pork chop grilling as he drove by.


(...as we sit here on BIOTG sweating what synthetic oil is best....:))

M-1 in the fryer is probably better for you...
