GM top end cleaner aerosol

Hi,

At the dealer the other day, I saw aerosol top engine cleaner (I thought it was a liquid).

I decided to buy a can, for use in whatever might need it. When I got the cam I read the back, and it seems to only really be for carbeurated cars.

I dont have one of those...

I cant see how its ay different than any other throttle body/carb cleaner, but I just wanted to check.

Any ideas? Does anyone use this in fuel injected vehicles?

If it is what I think it is, it is a great product. Years ago it was sold as Rochester X-88. The same product has been sold for years under many different labels. Ford and Mopar still sell it under their own labels. At one time Shell did as well.

It works very well for cleaning throttle bodies and also works very well as a combustion chamber cleaner if you can figure a way to feed it into the engine while it is running. As a combustion chamber cleaner, it works best if you permit the engine to stall near the end ofthe cleaning and allow it to soak for 15 to 30 minutes.

It has a slightly foamy and sticky consistancy that tends to penetrate well. Ocasionally I found it beneficial to follow up with Berryman B-12 for a final cleaning on throttle bodies, carbs, choke linmkage, and so on.

It does a good job. Try it, you'll like it.
