GM displacement on demand or active fuel management systems

Initially for 2021 from what I had read, GM was doing away with AFM and just going to use the DFM system. Due to a global microchip shortage, they will not be offering either of these systems at least through the rest of 2021.

My understanding though is that the DFM mechanical parts will still be present inside the engine so I guess there is a possibility that some mechanical issues may still occur.

You mentioned Conventional Oil, that would be an INCORRECT OIL since none meet the Dexos spec.

This is true. Mechanicals still there but not on electronically.
